Cavs Point Guard Kyrie Irving’s regular season debut will have to wait at least one more game. Head Coach David Blatt announced today that Irving would not play Tuesday night in Boston.
Irving has not seen game action since Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals when he suffered a fractured kneecap against the Golden State Warriors. The injury required surgery for the young point guard. Recently, he has been participating in full practices and traveling with the team.
Irving’s return will bring the Cavaliers to full health for the first time this season. Fellow guard Iman Shumpert recently got back on the court after missing the start of the season due to wrist surgery.
The Cavs are 15-7 to begin the season and sit atop the Eastern Conference standings.
