Happen to miss the show this morning? If you did, well, don’t let it happen again. Here’s a taste of what was discussed.
6:05-Carman & Lima talk about the tough day the Browns had in free agency yesterday and the national reports of problems in the front office. They discuss the excitement with Hue Jackson joining, but the concern about the analytics approach to decision making and how yesterday was a bad sign that things are already headed in the wrong direction.
7:08-Carman & Lima chat about who the Browns lost yesterday and what they are expected to do with their new teams. They discuss which holes have been created thus far without bringing anybody in and the pressure that’s put on the draft now to find guys that can make an immediate impact.
8:04-Daryl Ruiter joins the show and cannot believe among all the Browns screw-ups from yesterday that the one they had control of was cutting Johnny Manziel and they didn’t get rid of him yet. He can’t imagine any team trading for Manziel so there should be no reason to hold on to him. He details the possibility of him being suspended and if it’s realistic for the Browns to hold him in hopes that the league does make that decision. Daryl admits that it wasn’t a good day for the Browns yesterday considering all the free agent losses, but that the team is in the midst of a complete overhaul, so to an extent it does make sense. He says the button has been reset all the way back to ’99 and they have to start all over and you can’t blame the players for leaving at this point. He does say that while the teams approach to things in concerning, you have to wait and see what they do with the draft before making a real judgement.
8:49-With Johnny Manziel not being released yet, Carman & Lima look at the timeline, possible reasons he is still with the Browns, and what the future could hold for him both in and out of football. They all make their predictions on when he will actually be released.
