One of the most beautiful displays in the state, GE Lighting’s holiday exhibition is a sight to behold. Using more than half a million LED lights, the display features replicas of several iconic Cleveland locations like the Metroparks, Playhouse Square and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Snapping a family in the front of the display is a great way to showcase the places that make Cleveland a special place. GE Lighting’s display is open until Jan. 4.

A great Cleveland landmark to visit any time of the year, the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse is especially beautiful during the holiday season. The reason being, the park’s staff gives the greenhouse a Christmas makeover, filling it with poinsettias. Taking some holiday family photos here would be a great way to showcase some of Northeast Ohio’s gorgeous and vibrant greenery. The Greenhouse is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Continuing the nature theme, Rocky River Park is a great place to stage a holiday family photo. It’s massive, beautiful and if shot from the right perspective, it offers some pretty stunning views of Lake Erie. And once the snow has fallen, the park looks like something out of winter-themed picture book.

As it is situated in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is practically tailor-made for holiday family photos. As the Hall is one the most recognizable attractions in the city, getting a holiday photo in front of it is a great way to show off some CLE pride. It’s also a good location for anyone who wants to include some amazing cityscapes in their photos. Just make sure everyone is wearing enough layers as the wind coming off the lake can be absolutely bone-chilling.

When the holiday season arrives, Downtown Cleveland’s Public Square temporarily transformers itself into a glittery winter wonderland. Simply walking through the square’s light’s displays, snow covered streets and wonderfully creative decor will present families with dozens of spots in which to take a fantastic holiday card photo. It also offers an excellent vantage point for taking a snapshot in front of the Terminal Tower, which is lit with festive seasonal lights. Of course, the very best place to take a holiday photo would be in front of the massive 40 foot Christmas tree that stands at the center of the square.

When presented with the words “Christmas” and “Cleveland,” millions of people across the country will likely immediately think of the classic 1983 film “A Christmas Story.” Northeast Ohio families who want to give their holiday cards a touch of silver screen magic can take a photo in front of Ralphie Parker’s childhood home. While it doesn’t have the grandeur of the Metroparks or the traditional iconography of Public Square, it exemplifies the rueful nostalgia that long-time Clevelanders know so well. And, after grabbing a quick snapshot, visitors can head into the house to go on a guided tour or to buy a reproduction of one the ugliest lamps in the history of design.
