Clevelanders love to laugh. Surviving the city’s constant roadwork, harsh winters and even harsher football seasons requires a healthy sense of humor. Thankfully, the CLE is filled with excellent clubs and theaters that showcase the comedy scene’s biggest and brightest stars. And this spring, a host of hilarious comedians will be visiting Cleveland to banish the chill of the snow season for another year.

Kathy Griffin

Comedienne Kathy Griffin will be coming to Cleveland on March 25. Griffin has left audiences in stitches for more than 30 years now with her darkly hilarious observational insights and biographical anecdotes. Because of her long career in show business, Griffin has collected endless stories that cast many Hollywood heavyweights in a less than flattering, but never less than hilarious, light. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets start at $55.

Ace ventriloquist Terry Fator comes to America’s Comeback City on March 5. Fator first came into public awareness by winning the second season of “America’s Got Talent” with his variety of delightfully engaging puppets. He has since revived interest in his chosen form with his successful Las Vegas shows and TV specials. Attends of the 21 and over presentation can expect lots of comedic banter, some surprisingly assured soul singing and some timeless observational humor. The show begins 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $49.50.

Lewis Black

The wonderfully irascible Lewis Black will be bringing his Rant, White and Blue tour to the Land on April 7. While this “Daily Show” alum’s acerbic, profane comedy stylings are an acquired taste, his passionate delivery and satirical rants are undeniably captivating. And as an aggressively political comedian, Black will likely have a lot to scream about the recent presidential election. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and tickets start at $25.

Jim Breuer

Former “Saturday Night Live” star Jim Breuer will be in Cleveland April 21-22. After establishing himself as one the Bad Boys of SNL during the ‘90s, Breuer has since matured in thoughtful stand up who can speak authority about the greatness of Metallica and the complicated joys of fatherhood. And with four decades of on the road experience, Breuer is one the sharpest touring comedians working today. The April 21 shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and 10p.m. and the April 22 shows start at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

The mighty Chris Rock will perform in Cleveland on April 19. One of the greatest comedians of his generation, Rock is currently engaged in his first tour in nearly a decade. As his previous tours have produced some of the most beloved and indelible bits in modern comedy, fans of the art should make it point to see Rock’s new and rawest material. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets start at $49.50.
