This week on Cleveland Connection, Michelle O’Dell is learning more about organizations that help out our community in a variety of ways.

Children who grow up in Cleveland, especially those in predominantly low-income neighborhoods, experience vastly different academic outcomes than those growing up in more affluent areas. Only two out of every three students graduate high school and opportunities for those without a high school diploma or college degree are increasingly disappearing. Spoke with Holly Davis Trifiro who was inspired to address this injustice, began her career with Teach For America in 2007 as a corps member in Baltimore, where she taught high school English for three years and was named a Maryland Teacher of Promise. She then joined Teach For America staff as a manager of teacher leadership development. More info HERE!
