Hendrick Motorsports Says Dale Earnhardt Jr Will Retire At End Of Season

CONCORD, N.C. (92.3 The Fan) — Hendrick Motorsports says Dale Earnhardt Jr will retire at end of season.

Earnhardt has 26 career wins, including a pair of checkered flags at the Daytona 500, and has been named NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver 14 consecutive years. Earnhardt has just one top-ten finish this season and is currently 24th in the season standings.

The 42-year old Earnhardt missed the final 18 races of last season because of a concussion.
