Many Clevelanders are planning on celebrating St. Paddy’s Day on Monday, March 17, 2014. Whether you are heading out to watch the St. Paddy’s Day parade in downtown Cleveland, or just heading straight to the bar at the crack of dawn for green beer and car bombs, you will find some useful tips and recommendations below to help make your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations as fun and easy as possible.

The parade will start at Superior Avenue and East 18th Street, then head southwest on Superior Avenue to East Roadway. Continuing northeast on Rockwell Avenue, ending at Rockwell Avenue and East Sixth Street.

Tower City

Tower City Center hours and access information for March 17, 2014, St. Patrick’s Day:

Tower City Center, including its Food Court, will close at 2 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. The following merchants will remain open after 2 p.m.: Tower City Cinemas, Hard Rock Café, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Lincoln Tap House and Houlihan’s. After 2 p.m., limited access will be maintained to and from RTA and Tower City valet and self-parking, as well as access for Tower City office tenants and patrons of the open restaurants, Tower City Cinemas, and the Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance hotels.

Tower City Center will resume regular hours on Tuesday, March 18.


If you are heading downtown for the St. Patrick’s Day, here are a few tips to simplify your transportation:

You can purchase an All-Day RTA Pass for $5. Be sure to have cash for each person. These All-Day Passes will be sold at many rail stations that day, ticket vending machines, from vendors in advance or at Positively Cleveland.

Parking lot details: West 117th, Brookpark stations on the Red Line, and Green Road on the Green Line fill up first, plan to arrive early to park and ride. Triskett and West Park, also on the Red Line, have the most available spaces (and are not far from Brookpark). Parking is FREE at RTA rail lots.

RTA trains run from 4am to midnight.
