Nine years ago, ShurTech Brands, marketer of Duck Tape brand duct tape, wanted to sponsor an area event in such a big way that the Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival was born. Avon is now considered the duct tape capital of the world, with an event that brings roughly 40,000 visitors from throughout the area. This year’s highlights, a scavenger hunt, concerts, a parade and a fashion show featuring safari-inspired Duck Tape outfits, promise three safari-themed days of excitement for the whole family.

Chance Foreman, a Texas-based artist who creates duct tape portraits of historically significant people will be in attendance, and will craft an original duct tape portrait for the crowd. Maris Pawelko, another duct tape celebrity, will be sharing her crafting tips in the arts and crafts tent throughout the weekend as well. Outback Ray, a local animal expert, is also scheduled to give a free animal show for festival-goers as well. Be one of the first 500 to arrive each morning to receive a complimentary roll of Duck brand duct tape.

Finding a spot on the route couldn’t be easier, this parade runs from Avon High School right to the festival itself festival grounds.

Main Stage Performances
Art and excitement throughout the festival abound, but nothing beats the main stage line up this year. On Friday, enjoy the magic of Bobby Maverick, the Wayne’s World Band and former Idol contestant Bo Bice. Saturday mixes it up with fun and games through the day, Outback Ray’s animal meet and greet, and more magic with Maverick. At the close of the big day, Thunderstruck, an AC/DC tribute band, closes out the day. Sunday’s relaxed offerings include local performances by Avon Dance and Martial Arts and the much-loved Roadhouse Band.Related: Get Cooking at Westfield Southpark with Free Westfield Family Fun Days
