Perhaps Cleveland’s most iconic restaurant (and certainly the city’s most well-known brewery), Great Lakes Brewing Company’s brew pub offers relaxed ambiance with lots of Cleveland memorabilia. Dozens of house-brewed beers are available, alongside distinct classic bar eats like brewer’s barley pretzels with Liptaur dip; a locally-made sausage platter with cabbage and mustards; Killbuck Valley mushroom pizza; and an Old World burger with cheddar, bacon, house-made barbecue sauce and a pretzel roll. Located on trendy West Ninth, Gillespie’s Map Room is a unique bar with a worldly atmosphere. Dozens of maps and globes adorn the walls and tables of the joint, which is well known for its crisp pizzas and subs. Specialty pizzas include the New Jersey style, with fire roasted tomatoes, melted provolone and garlic sauce, and the Southwest Sizzler, with onions, sausage, jalapeño peppers and red peppers.
