Summer is finally here. With the kids off of school, parents are always looking for ways to fill the days. When the temperatures get high, it’s always fun to visit a pool. Cleveland has a lot of wonderful public pools to choose from, and here are some of the best the city has to offer.

Ledge Pool And Recreation Area

Ledge Pool in Hinckley is a part of the Cleveland Metroparks. This 80 by 100-foot pool is a great place to cool down over the summer. Ledge Pool also offers a Dive-In movie three times throughout the summer. This is a chance to float in the pool after regular hours and watch a movie on a huge screen. Passes are $6 for children ages 12 and up, $5 for children ages 6-11 and free for ages 5 and under. Season passes are also available to purchase.

Foster Pool at Lakewood Park is open for the summer from June 13 until Aug. 9. This Olympic-size pool has a wading pool for small children, a one-meter diving board and a concession stand with a large selection of snacks and drinks. It’s surrounded by Lakewood Park, one of the best playgrounds and walking trails in all of Cleveland. Passes are $4 for adults and $3.50 for children, with children 6 and under admitted free.

Thornton Park’s 50-meter swimming pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. This pool complex has a lot to offer families. It has a current channel, splash zone, two slides, diving boards and a tot pool for children age six and under. So no matter what ages your children are, Thornton Park Pool has something for everyone. Get passes at $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-18 and $2 for ages 2-4.

Eleanor B Garfield Pool

Open from May 30 to Aug. 19, the Eleanor B Garfield Pool in Mentor is the perfect place to spend the lazy days of summer. This heated pool has a diving board, baby pool and water slide, so the kids will have a blast. If you get hungry, you can grab some food at the snack bar. At the end of the day, you can clean off in the bathhouse before heading home. The extensive pool deck is surrounded by lawn and has a lot of trees if you want to stay out of the sun and sit in the shade. The pool is open daily from 1 – 8 p.m. and costs $3 for both children and adults.

Cumberland Outdoor Pool in Cleveland Heights is a fun place to spend the day this summer. The pool offers hours of enjoyment, including a wading area. The pool is a part of Cumberland Park, which has two basketball courts, a playground and a picnic area. The pool will be open for the 2015 season from June 6 – Sept. 7. Passes are $4 for adults and $3 for grades K-12.
