Summer is here and with it the chance to fill your time with more than just trips to the pool and park. The kids are at home, looking for something to do, and you can fill that time with volunteer hours. Volunteering is a great way to teach about community — the people in your neighborhood, helping others, giving back to people in need, sets a great example and it feels great! Hard times can fall upon any family; no one person is immune and volunteers help set a family or individual for success in the future. By volunteering with your spouse and children you’re showing them not all work needs compensation. If you’re not sure where to start, then think small and local. People need help in every corner of this world, including your own.

You can volunteer anywhere from the west side of Cleveland, on 110th, to Warrensville Heights. Orientation is held on the west side at the Habitat Administration offices and on the east side at the Habitat ReStore.
